SteamDB updates hint at potential imminence for Silksong release
Updated Post:
Hey there, folks! It's about damn time, huh? Silksong might finally drop, or it might still be a bloody endless wait. Some say tomorrow's the day, while others claim that time means shit all. Whatever the case, SteamDB has some fresh updates.
Apart from the updates they dished out earlier this week, which included achievement data for various languages, Silksong now supports Windows, Mac, and Linux, according to SteamDB. At the moment, Silksong's minimum requirements don't list Mac or Linux as choices, yet Steam provides support for these platforms, and developers can ** deploy their store pages for platform-specific packages**.
The Silksong subreddit is bustling with activity as usual. In one thread, you can find the skeptics (past the point of being clans) starting to doubt their own cynicism.
"FUCK MY FLIPPING FLAIR SILKSONG TOMORROW!" screams one desperate switcher. "I... can't... deny... it... any longer!" writes another, practically channeling the Hulk's rage.
On one side, it's sus AF that the game's Steam page would receive so many updates- seven in total, including this one- before Summer Game Fest. With tons of announcements on the way, it's not entirely far-fetched to think Team Cherry's preparing for a big release.
On the other hand, a few SteamDB updates don't necessarily prove much if you ain't chasing every gain of hope you can. Since Elden Ring, no game has had this much feverish hype behind it, and the echo chamber is louder than Silksong is likely to be: Just a kickass metroidvania. Which, given I've played a handful since Hollow Knight, is just saying something modest.
If Team Cherry does drop Silksong on our heads in a matter of hours, it'll silence all the doubters and fans alike. No more daily Silksong news, no more twitchy fingers, no more Silkposts. Bait used to be believable, but if it's the dawn of the final day, there won't be a peep. All I can say is, if this is indeed the end? Gentlebugs, it's been an honour.

- If the Silksong game releases today as rumored, it might put an end to the endless stream of Silksong news, daily updates, and Silkposts.
- With SteamDB releasing multiple updates for the Silksong game, it raises questions about a possible big release during the upcoming Summer Game Fest.
- Even though the upcoming year, 2025, promises a multitude of new games, it remains to be seen if any of them can generate the same level of hype as Silksong has managed to create with the help of technology and the Internet.
