Although employees working remotely tend to record their working hours more accurately, they are more inclined to overlook break times. 36% of home-office workers fail to log their breaks, compared to 20% of those working outside their homes. Furthermore, 82% of those working from home engage in personal activities during work hours, significantly higher than the average of 71%.
Employees commit time theft for a range of reasons, with unpaid overtime being the most common (cited by 32% of respondents). Other reasons include dissatisfaction with working conditions (16%) and personal obligations (13%).
