Tesco Shoppers Rejoice: Patrón XO Cafe Returns After 4-Year Hiatus

Tesco shoppers, rejoice! The beloved Patrón XO Cafe, a dry, low-proof coffee liqueur, is returning to shelves after a four-year hiatus. The discontinuation was met with heartbreak from customers, but now it's back, just in time for the holidays.

Patrón XO Cafe is made from a unique blend of Patrón Silver tequila and coffee essence. It's crafted with 100% Weber Blue Agave, a succulent native to parts of Mexico. The liqueur is known for its smooth, coffee-infused flavour, making it a popular choice for cocktails and desserts.

The return of Patrón XO Cafe follows a trend of discontinued favourites making a comeback. This summer saw the return of Double Diamond, the 1990s alcopop, after a 20-year absence. Originally brewed in 1876 as an Indian Pale Ale, Double Diamond was so popular it was advertised in Piccadilly Circus. Similarly, Coca-Cola is bringing back Diet Cherry Coke for the first time since 2018.

Patrón XO Cafe is now available at Tesco for £46 for a 70cl bottle, £16 more than its previous price. Bacardi, the company behind Patrón, discontinued the liqueur to focus on its core super and ultra-premium tequilas. But with the return of Patrón XO Cafe, fans can once again enjoy their favourite coffee-infused tipple.
