Test Engineering Specialist I Position
In the ever-growing world of financial technology, Acorns, a global financial wellness app, is looking to expand its team with a new addition: a Quality Assurance Engineer I. This remote-first organization is offering a unique opportunity for a self-directed, detail-oriented individual to collaborate with product and engineering teams, design and maintain automated test suites, and develop and maintain test plans (source [1]).
Acorns, which has been helping everyday people and families save and invest money for the long term since 2014, is now seeking a candidate with at least 2 years of experience as a QA/QE Engineer, SDET, or similar role. The successful candidate will be expected to have a working knowledge of test methodologies, processes, and tools, as well as agile testing experience. Programming skills in Ruby, Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, and testing RESTful APIs are also essential (source [1]).
The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Engineer at Acorns include writing functional, integration, system, and end-to-end automated tests, collaborating across teams to improve testing and product quality, building and maintaining testing tools and frameworks for mobile, web, and backend platforms, participating in design reviews to identify potential risks, and developing and maintaining test documentation and plans (source [1]).
Candidates should also have experience with automated testing technologies, though experience with all listed technologies is not mandatory. The ability to learn new technologies on the job and a passion for ensuring high-quality, bug-free user experiences are highly valued (source [1]).
The QA Engineer is expected to show creativity and initiative to improve product test coverage and effectiveness. Experience with Unix (Linux preferred) is also required. Acorns offers a competitive salary and stock options, a comprehensive benefits package, flexible work location, hours, and paid time off, 401(k) matching, monthly Acorns account contribution & GoHenry account for the family, Mindfulness and Financial Wellness resources, Acorns Career Development Program, Roots Leadership Program, Community week onsite gatherings and virtual events, and a talented and motivated team (source [1]).
The pay range for the QA Engineer position is expected to be between $121,400 and $142,800/year. The QA Engineer will also participate in product feature and architecture design reviews, build and maintain tools and frameworks for automated testing, and assist with testing new features (source [1]).
It's important to note that Acorns participates in E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all newly hired employees. The QA Engineer should be comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings (source [1]).
Acorns, with its mission to empower micro-investing and deliver financial wellness, is an exciting place to grow both personally and professionally. If you are a detail-oriented, communicative, and innovative individual, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
