Tiny PC from ASUS ROG NUC (2025) houses RTX 5080 power and carries a hefty price tag

The ASUS ROG NUC (2025) NUC15JNK, the latest addition to the ASUS ROG family, is a gaming PC that packs a punch in a compact form factor.

Design

The 2025 model adopts a more aggressive and sharper-edged styling compared to the softer look of its predecessor. It includes a translucent accent panel with customizable AURA Sync RGB lighting, making it more visually striking. A key practical enhancement is the tool-less chassis design, allowing users to open and upgrade the device easily without needing screwdrivers.

Performance

Powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor, the NUC15JNK brings better power efficiency and AI acceleration than last year's chips. The GPU is upgraded to the laptop-grade NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080, a major leap from the previous generation’s RTX 4070, delivering much stronger graphics and gaming capabilities. Memory and storage are also enhanced, with configurations including 32GB of DDR5-6400 RAM and up to a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD.

Connectivity

The NUC15JNK offers modern connectivity with WiFi 7 and Thunderbolt 4 ports, ensuring future compatibility.

Thermal Management

The 2025 ROG NUC employs a three-fan cooling system designed for compact yet efficient heat dissipation to sustain high performance in a small form factor. This updated cooling setup helps manage the increased thermal load from the more powerful CPU and GPU, enabling stable performance during extended gaming or intensive tasks.

Pricing

The ROG NUC (2025) NUC15JNK is priced at $3,199 for the fully loaded version, significantly higher than last year's model which started around $1,799 for similar configurations. This places it in the luxury territory.

In summary, the ASUS ROG NUC (2025) NUC15JNK stands out with a bolder design, much stronger CPU/GPU performance, easier maintenance through a tool-less design, and a sophisticated triple-fan cooling system to handle the upgraded components efficiently. However, its high price tag may deter some potential buyers.
