No need to fret about those insidious blank spots, as I bring you the NYT Mini Crossword answers for January 9, 2025 (spoilers ahead, of course):
NYT Mini Crossword Clues and Answers
NYT Mini Across Answers
1 Across: Translating this English term leads us to the Latin term for "sinister" — LEFT
5 Across: Outstanding role for a renowned star — CAMEO
6 Across: This Muppet has a pet worm named Slimey — OSCAR
7 Across: Details, slangy — DEETS
8 Across: Typical playground reply to "Am not!" — ARE SO
NYT Mini Down Answers
1 Down: High-tech illumination — LASER
2 Down: Event master with a mic — EMCEE
3 Down: Remarkable accomplishments — FEATS
4 Down: General location for most of the body's organs — TORSO
5 Down: Musical finale — CODA
It took me 1:08 to conquer this particular NYT Mini.
While solving this one, I stumbled upon a few challenges — CAMEO was the only immediate response in my Across set. Initially, I misjudged 8 Across to be “am too,” adding to my confusion while tackling the Down clues. However, once I unlocked CODA, I managed to decipher OSCAR and DEETS, and sail effortlessly through the rest.
I must confess that my knowledge of Latin is practically nonexistent. I'm speculating that there could be some politically-inclined individuals who might perceive this as an opportunity to misconstrue information.
