Toyota Launches Hilux Champ: A Rugged, Budget-Friendly Commercial Vehicle
Toyota has launched the Hilux Champ, a new commercial vehicle designed for emerging markets in Southeast Asia. It's available in Thailand at a promotional price starting at around €15,300.
The Hilux Champ is a no-frills workhorse, offered only as a single-cabin commercial vehicle with basic interior features. It's powered by the reliable 2GD-FTV turbodiesel engine, generating 150 horsepower.
To keep costs down, the Champ comes with rear-wheel drive and 14-inch tires. Despite this, it's built for tough conditions. The Super SWB variant, with its 2.58-meter frame and 4.52-meter length, is designed to tackle rough bush tracks. It boasts a 1.87-meter long loading area and a 1.71-meter usable width.
The Champ is manufactured with a focus on cost-effective production and durability. It's equipped with a standard six-speed automatic transmission. Notably, it doesn't come with a heater, catering to warmer climates in Southeast Asia.
The Hilux Champ is Toyota's latest offering for budget-conscious buyers seeking a durable and reliable work vehicle. Its stripped-down features and affordable price point make it an attractive option for emerging markets in Southeast Asia.
