Transformed Legacy: Racing Background to Electric Vehicle Dominance
Lotus Tech, a division of the iconic luxury electric vehicle (BEV) maker Lotus, is driving change in the mobility industry with its commitment to electrification and sustainability. As part of the Vision80 strategy, Lotus Tech is set to roll out all BEV products beginning in 2022, aiming to develop a 100% BEV product portfolio by 2027 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2038.
Beyond electrification, Lotus Tech supports fleet sustainability through the use of advanced sustainable and sustainably sourced materials in its vehicles. For instance, the Lotus Emeya, a consciously designed vehicle, incorporates such materials as part of its sustainability efforts.
In terms of energy-efficient charging solutions, Lotus offers very fast charging technology. The Emeya, for example, can charge from 10% to 80% in just 14 minutes using a 400 kW DC fast charger. This fast charging reduces energy waste and supports efficient fleet operations by minimizing downtime.
Lotus Tech is also deeply involved in manufacturing eco-friendly vehicles, embedding sustainability across the entire product value chain. While direct information on recycled materials specifically within fleet operations or broader fleet initiatives by Lotus Tech was not found, the emphasis on sustainable materials in vehicle design and high-powered fast charging are clear initiatives beyond just electrification that contribute to overall fleet sustainability.
As part of its sustainability efforts, Lotus Tech is developing its own range of electric vehicle charging solutions. Next-generation charging solutions developed by Lotus are available today in China and expected to be rolled out in majority of European countries and Middle East in Q2 2024.
For a more sustainable fleet future, fleet managers and suppliers are encouraged to consider providing supported home-chargers instead of expensive fast chargers along highways. The ESG report of preferred suppliers should also be reviewed by fleet managers and fleet suppliers.
Updates on Lotus Tech's sustainability efforts may be available when the new ESG report is released. For a comprehensive understanding of Lotus Tech's sustainability initiatives, the new ESG Video provides the most updated perspective.
