Ukraine's Ministry of Defence has given the green light for the implementation of the PROTECTOR heavy-duty unmanned ground robot system in their defence forces. Say hello to this badass, battle-ready machine, folks!
The PROTECTOR is the brainchild of Ukrainian Armor, a design and manufacturing company that has taken their battle-tested experience and expertise in armored vehicles to craft this beast. This robotic workhorse is designed to perform various combat and logistical missions, keeping our brave soldiers safe on the frontlines.
This multi-role, versatile Robotic Ground Vehicle (RGV) can carry up to 700 kilograms of ammunition, supplies, and even injured soldiers. It serves as a remote weapons platform, too, as it can be fitted with a machine gun, cannon, anti-tank guided missile system, man-portable air defense system, or electronic warfare equipment.
The PROTECTOR is no slouch when it comes to mobility and durability. Powered by a potent internal combustion engine and sporting all-wheel drive, it can navigate over tough terrain, ford deep waters, and traverse harsh conditions with ease. RunFlat technology ensures it keeps moving, even with combat-damaged tires! With a range of up to 400 kilometers, it can sustain persistent missions without the need for frequent refueling or maintenance stops.
Valerii Churkin, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine, calls the PROTECTOR the first full-fledged model in a new line of ground robotic systems. He thinks of it as a comprehensive unmanned vehicle that's here to change the game on the battlefield.
