UNF Hit by Cyberattack, Forecasts Sales Up, Profit Down

United Natural Foods (UNF) has suffered a significant cyberattack, leading to a substantial financial impact. The company has taken affected systems offline but has not revealed any names connected to the incident.

The attack, discovered on June 5, is expected to cost UNF between $350 million and $400 million in lost net sales for fiscal 2025. Despite this, the company has raised its annual net sales forecast to a range of $31.6 billion to $31.8 billion, up from its previous estimate.

However, UNF has reduced its annual adjusted profit forecast to between 40 cents and 80 cents, down from between 70 cents and 90 cents earlier. The company anticipates that insurance proceeds will cover the incident's costs.

The company has taken necessary measures to contain the breach and expects insurance to cover the related expenses. No names have been publicly disclosed in connection with the incident.
