Unveiling the Limited Edition Fleuss Automatic Marlborough - Pure Craftsmanship and Elegance in its Finest Form

Introducing the Fleuss Automatic Marlborough - a 2023 essential for any watch collector and tribute to diving pioneer, Henry Fleuss. This limited edition diver's watch boasts robust engineering and a vintage aesthetic that stirs up tales of Underwater exploration.

Henry Fleuss was no ordinary seafarer. Born in Marlborough, Wiltshire, in 1851, he ventured into a career at sea at the tender age of 16. During his tenure as an officer with P&O, Fleuss observed divers struggling with bulky equipment to recover lost cargo. Intrigued by the idea of diving without the assistance of a crew or connecting to the surface for air, Fleuss employed his understanding of physiology and chemistry to develop a source of compressed oxygen, along with a method for carbon dioxide absorption. Like a true pioneer, he took matters into his own hands, constructing and testing much of the equipment himself despite having no prior diving experience!

Fleuss went on to work as an engineer and Master Diver for Siebe, Gorman & Co. There, he teamed up with Robert Davis to create the Davis Submarine Escape Apparatus. This compact, closed-circuit breathing apparatus was the first of its kind and laid the foundation for the Frogmen and Human Torpedo riders of World War II[1].

Fast forward to the modern era, and Spinnaker's Fleuss Marlborough diver watch pays homage to the innovative engineer. With a design harking back to the late 1800s and early 1900s, this timepiece sports cathedral-style hour and minute hands and a semi-transparent dial engraved with hour indexes in Swiss Super-LumiNova for optimal readability in low-light situations. The marine-grade stainless steel case, 43mm in diameter, features a scratch-resistant sapphire lens, while the custom-built 7-link solid stainless steel bracelet augments this with a fold-over diver clasp. A pumpkin-style crown adds a touch of historic charm, and a water-resistant genuine leather strap completes the look. Equipped with Spinnaker's engineering, the watch promises water resistance to 15 ATM (150M) and is powered by a TMI NH35 automatic movement[2].

Available in two colors, each collection will be limited to 250 pieces. The Fleuss Automatic Marlborough Limited Edition timepiece serves as a testament to Henry Fleuss's invaluable contributions to the field of diving technology.

In the modern era, Spinnaker's Fleuss Marlborough diver watch pays tribute to this engineering advancement by incorporating technology such as a TMI NH35 automatic movement and a scratch-resistant sapphire lens in its design.
