Experiencing Issues with New PC Game Demo on RTX50 and RTX40 Cards: Workaround is to Temporarily Reduce Graphics Settings to Progress Through Intro, Then Restore Quality Later

Users of Nvidia's RTX 4000 and 5000 series GPUs are advised to lower their settings and turn off DLSS during the cinematic intro of the Hell is Us demo to prevent crashing, as per the developer's instructions.

The Game Developers of 'Hell Is Us' Provide a Workaround for Crashing Issues on Nvidia RTX 50 and RTX 40 GPUs

In a recent update on the Steam page for the anticipated open-world action-adventure game, 'Hell Is Us', the developers at Rogue Factor suggest a solution for players experiencing start-up crashes on Nvidia RTX 50 and RTX 40 GPUs with the PC demo.

To get past the cinematic intro and avoid crashes, players are advised to lower the graphics quality settings from the main menu and disable all forms of upscaling, such as DLSS, XeSS, FSR, and more. While this workaround may jeopardize the gaming experience at first, gamers can restore their high-quality settings once they've successfully navigated through the intro and assume control of the main character, Rémi.

Gear Up for 'Hell Is Us'

Boasting impressive graphics powered by Unreal Engine 5, 'Hell Is Us' has already garnered a reputation as a hardware-intensive title, set for release on September 4, 2025. According to Germany's PCGH.de, ideal hardware for 4K/UHD at 30 frames per second would be an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, along with a minimum of 32GB of system RAM.

While the official recommended specs suggest an Nvidia RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) or AMD RX 6750 XT (12GB) for a smoother gaming experience, there's a growing debate about the relevance of 8GB VRAM GPUs in view of the game's requirements.

An Action-Packed Adventure

'Hell Is Us' is a single-player action-adventure game set in a semi-open world, offering both melee combat and investigative elements. Though it's still months away, you can pre-order the game on Steam/PC now. The game will also be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, hoping that issues like the crashing problem in the PC demo will be a thing of the past by then.
