A high-level delegation from Vietnam's Ministry of Science and Technology, led by Minister Nguyễn Mạnh Hùng, visited Japan. They attended a seminar in Tokyo on October 2, focusing on promoting research and development of strategic technologies, particularly 'Chip Edge AI'. The event was hosted by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, FPT Japan, and the Vietnam Digital Transformation Association in Japan (VADX).

The seminar saw five keynote presentations by Vietnamese scientists, discussing topics like Vietnam's opportunities in Edge AI chip development and strategies for advancing strategic technology products. Notably, Professor Phạm Nam Hải from Tokyo Institute of Technology is collaborating with leading global technology firms to develop SOT-MRAM, a new memory technology for AI applications.

State Minister for Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Adachi Masashi, welcomed Minister Hùng and the Vietnamese delegation. During the event, the V-S.T.I.D Platform was officially launched. This platform aims to connect overseas Vietnamese intellectuals with ministries, localities, research institutes, universities, and businesses in Vietnam. Minister Hùng affirmed the Vietnamese Government's commitment to supporting semiconductors as a strategic industry and backing Vietnamese scientists in developing core technologies for national growth.
