Vietnamese consulting firm ABeam introduces job-finding application aimed at Japan market
The DOLAB-JICA application, a digital tool designed to provide Vietnamese workers with access to verified job postings from Japanese companies, is making significant strides under the leadership of ABeam Consulting Vietnam. By April 2025, the platform had garnered over 27,000 site visits and was downloaded 230 times from Google Play and App Store.
Launched in August 2023, the project initially focused on supporting Vietnamese workers, particularly overseas Vietnamese. However, it aims to expand its reach beyond Vietnam's borders through strategic partnerships with international organisations like the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and Japan Platform.
The ILO collaboration aims to strengthen regional labour cooperation, particularly in ASEAN countries, to improve labour conditions, protect migrant workers' rights, and advance comprehensive frameworks. The Japan Platform partnership, on the other hand, focuses on humanitarian and development assistance, supporting Vietnamese and ASEAN migrant workers in disaster response, resilience, and sustainable labour conditions.
These partnerships are instrumental in creating a scalable and replicable model that enhances protection, skills development, and sustainable labour policies for migrant workers. The ultimate goal is to contribute to a more inclusive labour market across ASEAN and potentially other regions, aligning with Vietnam and ASEAN’s commitments to workforce development, care economy, and labour equity in a changing global labour landscape.
ABeam Consulting Vietnam, the software development and coordination team for the DOLAB-JICA application, is committed to this project. Ryohei Oda, the managing director of ABeam Consulting Vietnam, has stated that the DOLAB-JICA project is a key part of ABeam's social transformation strategy in Vietnam.
The project's second phase, which began in April 2024, focused on launching the web platform and mobile app. Training was provided for 263 service providers on platform usage and system operations, and by April 2025, 159 worker accounts were created on the platform.
Users can benefit from detailed information on job postings, including company names, job categories, responsibilities, contract duration, salary, allowances, and costs prior to departure. The DOLAB-JICA project is leveraged by ABeam Consulting Vietnam to improve social wellbeing, enhance transparency, and protect citizens' rights in Vietnam. By April 2025, 956 job postings were updated on the platform.
Yosuke Kobayashi, chief representative of JICA Vietnam, has stated that the project aims to change the paradigm of labour migration through digital transformation. With its expanding impact and commitment to social transformation, the DOLAB-JICA project is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of Vietnamese workers and beyond.
The ILO collaboration and the Japan Platform partnership, integral to the DOLAB-JICA project, strive to facilitate its expansion beyond Vietnam's borders, leveraging technology in an effort to foster a more inclusive and equitable business environment for migrant workers across the region. ABeam Consulting Vietnam, with their commitment to social transformation, drives the project forward, utilizing its platform to provide verified job postings from Japanese companies, while also improving transparency and workers' rights in the finance sector.
