On The Run Unveils Ultra-Fast Charging Station in Delta, BC

In a significant move towards advancing electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in Canada, On The Run, a subsidiary of Parkland Corporation, has opened a new ultra-fast charging station in Delta, British Columbia.

Located at 8579 120 Street, this charging station is equipped with three chargers in total, supplied by ABB Group, a global leader in EV charging technology. The station features a 400 kW charger, the first of its kind in the region, and two Terra 184 chargers, each rated at 180 kW.

This new station offers massive power for EVs that support high-speed charging, making it the fastest public charging station available in Western Canada. Tesla drivers can use the station, but they must bring their own adapter, with charging speeds limited to a maximum of 50 kW with a CHAdeMO adapter or 250 kW with a CCS adapter.

For a limited time, all charging sessions at the station are free through the Journie Rewards app. On The Run has also announced plans for expansion, with four additional 400 kW chargers set to go live in British Columbia this spring. The expansion plans include locations in British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario.

While details about On The Run's ultra-fast charging station expansion plans in Canada are not yet available, the broader market momentum towards expanding fast charger infrastructure is evident. Major players like EVgo are aggressively expanding their networks, signalling potential growth in the Canadian market, including On The Run locations.

Regarding Tesla Supercharger support, Tesla is opening its network to many non-Tesla EVs in North America by the end of 2025. Several major automakers, including GM, Honda, and Hyundai, are adopting or offering adapters for Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS), enabling their EVs to use Tesla Superchargers. As of now, On The Run's chargers support both CCS and CHAdeMO connectors, but no specific information about NACS support is available.

For the most up-to-date specifics on On The Run’s charging network or Tesla support there, it may be best to check their official sites or press releases directly. On The Run previously announced plans to roll out support for the North American Charging Standard (NACS) in 2024, but as of now, these adapters have yet to appear at this location.

This new charging station is a significant step forward in On The Run's commitment to providing convenient and efficient charging solutions for EV drivers across Canada. With the growing number of EVs on the road and the increasing demand for charging infrastructure, this development is expected to contribute significantly to the EV ecosystem in the region.
