Despite the ongoing ceasefire between Thai and Cambodian troops, the situation of scam operations related to Thai workers in Poipet, Cambodia, remains largely unaffected. Scam gangs, including those involved in call-centre fraud and online gambling scams, are believed to be operating as usual. Police investigations continue, with around 800 scam cases involving some workers under prosecution.

Following the ceasefire agreement, most Thai workers in Poipet who initially wanted to return to Thailand chose to stay and continue working, especially in casinos and call centres. About a thousand Thais had expressed their willingness to return home but changed their minds after learning of the ceasefire and resumed work in Poipet.

On July 27, 1,000 more Thai workers expressed their intention to return to Thailand, but only 74 actually did so. According to checkpoint records in Sa Kaeo province, approximately 1,000 Thais crossed back from Cambodia on July 26. Some of these returning Thais were found to be involved in about 800 scam cases and are being prosecuted.

However, the majority of the remaining Thai workers in Poipet decided to continue their employment in the area. The situation at the border has eased, with tensions decreasing following the ceasefire agreement.

In summary, the majority of Thai workers in Poipet have chosen to remain and continue working after the ceasefire, with only a minority returning home. Scam operations are continuing unaffected by the border conflict, with about 800 scam cases linked to workers under investigation. The public has been cautioned against fraudulent donation schemes related to border conflict, and cybercrime investigators are actively monitoring and removing fraudulent donation sites.
