Camden Launches Virtual Loading Bays to Cut Congestion and Pollution

Camden has launched two Virtual Loading Bays (VLBs), part of a growing network across London aiming to enhance delivery efficiency, safety, and sustainability. This initiative, a collaboration with Grid Smarter Cities, is set to reduce congestion and air pollution.

The VLBs are dedicated kerbside spaces that can be pre-booked for deliveries, allowing for smoother and more efficient drop-offs. This trial is expanding across London, with the Cross River Partnership (CRP) leading the way. While specific locations in other boroughs are yet to be confirmed, the project is expected to cover various areas, including the City of London Corporation, the London Borough of Lambeth, and the London Borough of Richmond.

The Camden VLBs, part of a wider London network, are poised to revolutionize urban deliveries. By reducing congestion and air pollution, they contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more efficient city. As the trial expands, more London boroughs are expected to benefit from this innovative solution.
