Residents in certain regions can expect increased helicopter activity and potential noise disturbances from Monday to Thursday evenings between 6:00 PM and 10:00 PM. This is due to mandatory night flight training for police helicopter pilots, set to take place from October 6 to December 19, 2025, at the aviation school in Sankt Augustin-Hangelar.

The Federal Police Aviation Group, based in Sankt Augustin, operates 93 helicopters. These support various federal and state authorities. The upcoming training is crucial for pilot licensing and ensures safe nighttime operations.
